Biography: Caitlin achieved numerous accolades in her junior season, being recognized as the Consensus National Player of the Year and receiving unanimous first team All-Big Ten honors. Additionally, she earned the title of Big Ten Tournament MVP and secured a spot on the Big Ten All-Tournament Team. Notably, she was awarded the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year and the Dawn Staley Guard of the Year for three consecutive seasons, a first in the history of the Dawn Staley Award. She also garnered recognition as a Wooden Award All-America, first team AP All-America, USBWA All-America, WBCA All-America, and All-Region honoree.
Her remarkable achievements extended to the court, as she played a key role in leading the Hawkeyes to their first-ever National Championship appearance. In a standout performance, she achieved a 40-point triple-double against No. 1 South Carolina. Making history, she became the first player in Division I women's basketball to amass over 1,000 points and 300 assists in a single season, finishing her junior season with impressive averages of 27.8 points, 8.6 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game. Furthermore, she set the record as the first player in Division I women's basketball to accomplish this feat. In NCAA Tournament play, she contributed significantly with 161 points and 52 assists.
