Kyle Snyder became a 2017 World Champion by winning what was dubbed as the “Match of the Century.” His win gave USA Wrestling the World Team title – its first in 22 years. Snyder won the U.S. Senior Open and U.S. World Team Trials in 2017.

He became the first American since 2009 to win gold at Russia's famed Ivan Yarygin Tournament, capturing a gold medal in the 97kg weight class. Snyder has been named U.S. Male Olympic Athlete of the Year and Ohio State Male Athlete of the Year both in 2017. He is an 2018 NCAA Champion, Big Ten Champion and NCAA All-American.
