Biography: Tim Shaw was an Olympic swimmer and played water polo. Tim Shaw is the only swimmer ever to hold the 200-400-800 and mile records simultaneously and the only swimmer ever to set the 200-400-mile wrs in the same meet -- the AAUs (nee U.S. Nationals) at Concord, Calif., in August of 1974. He won seven AAU National Championships and three NCAA Championships. Shaw was an Olympic swimmer who had held ten world records and won gold and silver medals in Montreal. In the 1976 Olympic Games he won silver for the 400m freestyle and in the 1984 Olympic Games he won silver in water polo. In 1975 he won gold in three events at the World Championships. Shaw was the winner of the 1975 Sullivan Award, 1974 FINA Prize Eminence Award, and was named World Swimmer of the year in 1974 and 1975
